Nicholas William Berry, a non-executive director of Atlantic Telecom has
notified the company of the disposal of a total of 283,003 ordinary shares in
which he had a beneficial interest.  The disposal has taken place in two
tranches, the latter disposal arising as a result of the exercise of a pre
existing call option.  Following these disposals Mr Berry has a resultant
total holding of 7,133,267 ordinary shares (representing 8.43 per cent. of the
ordinary shares in issue).  The details of each trade are as follows:

DISPOSAL OF 200,000 ORDINARY SHARES

Stancroft Trust Limited, a company of which Mr Berry is a director, sold
200,000 ordinary shares (representing 0.236 per cent. of the ordinary shares
in issue) at a price of 266p per share.  The transaction took place on 7th
April 1999 and the company was informed the same day.

DISPOSAL OF 83,003 ORDINARY SHARES

Pursuant to a pre-existing call option dated 8th July 1994 Stancroft Trust
Limited and Mr Berry sold 83,003 ordinary shares (representing 0.098 per cent.
of the ordinary shares in issue).  The shares were registered in the name of
Ashmor Nominees Limited.  The exercise price for the call option and thus the
disposal price was 57.15p, the transaction took place on 8th April 1999 and
the company was informed the same day.
