BRS On-Board Emergency Parachute System to Be Standard Manufactured
Equipment on CT Light Sport Aircraft SOUTH ST. PAUL, Minn., Oct. 3
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ballistic Recovery Systems, Inc.
(OTC:BRSI) (BULLETIN BOARD: BRSI) ( http://brsparachutes.com/ ), a
manufacturer of whole-airplane parachute recovery systems for
general aviation and recreational aircraft, announced today its
1350 Light Sport Aircraft system will be standard on all Flight
Design CT Light Sport Aircraft delivered in the USA. "Cirrus took a
revolutionary step in general aviation when they made the BRS
parachute system (CAPS) standard equipment on the SR20 and SR22
aircraft. This same visionary step has been taken by Flight Design
by including the BRS as standard equipment on all CT airplanes in
the new Special Light Sport Aircraft category," said Gregg
Ellsworth, Director of Air Safety for BRS. The Flight Design CT is
a performance leader in Light Sport Aircraft. CT stands for
composite-technology and the carbon fiber and Kevlar composite
airframe allows for a very strong, light and aerodynamically clean
design. Flight Design GmbH is headquartered in Stuttgart Germany,
and is sold and distributed in North America through Flight Design
USA. "We have a long history of cooperation as a BRS
partner-in-safety so it was natural we would want every CT sold in
the USA to have the BRS parachute system as standard," said Flight
Design USA President Tom Peghiny. The FAA is projecting the overall
LSA market could reach 3,000 by next year, and top 6,000 by the end
of the decade. "We all felt that the CT is a modern aircraft with
advanced safety features and the BRS parachute system should be on
every plane we sell," added Peghiny. In Ballistic Recovery Systems'
25-year history, BRS has sold over 20,000 of its onboard emergency
parachute systems to aircraft owners around the world, including
over 2,000 systems on certified aircraft like the Cirrus Design
aircraft. BRS units to date have been documented to have saved 181
lives. The forward-looking matters discussed here should be
considered subject to risks and uncertainties, including projected
revenues from Paranetics transactions, market fluctuations,
pricing, procurement, manufacturing efficiencies, the results of
litigation and other risks that could cause the actual results to
differ materially from those projected. For more information,
