Mart Resources, Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MMT) ("Mart") is pleased to announce that the
securityholders of Mart have approved the plan of arrangement (the "Plan of
Arrangement") involving Mart and Westfield Oil Holding Limited ("WOHL"), a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Westfield Exploration and Development Limited
("Westfield") and the holders of Mart common shares, warrants and options as
more particularly described in the Management Information Circular of Mart dated
August 31, 2009. At the special meeting of securityholders to approve the Plan
of Arrangement held on September 25, 2009, votes representing 94% of Mart common
shares and votes representing 95% of Mart common shares, warrants and options
collectively present in person or by proxy at the meeting were voted in favour
of the Plan of Arrangement. In addition, the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta
has approved the Plan of Arrangement.


Discussions are ongoing between Mart and WOHL and Westfield regarding a short
extension for the payment of the closing consideration for this transaction.
