Aurora Energy Resources Inc. ("Aurora" or "the Company") (TSX:AXU) is pleased to
announce the appointment of Chesley Andersen to the newly created position of
Vice President, Labrador Affairs.

"In creating the Vice President, Labrador Affairs portfolio, we were seeking to
broaden and deepen our understanding of Labrador and of Labrador Inuit and Innu
history, culture, communities and relationships," said Dr. Mark O'Dea, Aurora's
President and CEO. "Through his very senior experience and understanding of
Labrador, Chesley brings this and more to Aurora's management team. His
contribution to our communications, policies, agreements and strategies will be
a vital part of our community and government relations, and will lend support
and direction to the overall progress of the Michelin Project."

Based in Labrador, Mr. Andersen will lead and facilitate the regional and local
community consultation process, as well as create policy for Aurora's activities
based on community involvement, Inuit and Innu culture, and applicable regional
government policies. Mr. Andersen will also have a key role on the recently
created Michelin Project Community Panel and will assist with the training
program Aurora is currently developing. He will commence working with Aurora on
September 15.

Mr. Andersen has over twenty years of experience representing Labrador Inuit
both locally and nationally, with extensive expertise in business and resource
development. He most recently held the position of Senior Negotiator with the
Nunatsiavut Government. Prior to this, Mr. Andersen served as the Secretary to
the Executive Council of the Nunatsiavut Government, liaising with senior
government representatives and working directly with the President of the
Nunatsiavut Government on economic, legal and constitutional matters.

Prior to his governmental involvement, Mr. Andersen spent approximately fifteen
years of his career working with the Labrador Inuit Association (LIA), where he
made significant contributions to the negotiation of the Labrador Inuit Land
Claims Agreement. He served as the LIA's Mineral Resource Advisor for ten years,
during which time he played a key role in the negotiation of the Impacts and
Benefits Agreement with Inco Ltd. (now Vale Inco) for the development of the
Voisey's Bay nickel project in northern Labrador.

Mr. Andersen also held posts with the Labrador Inuit Development Corporation,
the business arm of the LIA, and worked nationally in coordination with other
regional Inuit organizations as Vice President of Inuit Tapirisat of Canada and
Coordinator with Canadian Inuit Business Development Council, both based in
Ottawa.

Chesley was born and raised in the Inuit community of Makkovik in coastal
Labrador and continues to live there today.
