American Banker magazine has named two U.S. Bancorp (NYSE: USB)
women among its “25 Most Powerful Women in Banking.” Pamela Joseph
and Leslie Godridge were honored at an awards dinner at the Waldorf
Astoria in New York City, and in the magazine’s “Most Powerful
Women in Banking” issue in October 2014.
Joseph, vice chair and head of U.S. Bancorp’s payment services
division, earned the #4 position for 2014. This is the ninth year
that she has been included in the most powerful women ranking.
Joseph’s division continues to grow and innovate, bringing new
products and strategies to market.
Godridge, executive vice president and Head of National
Corporate Specialized Industries & Global Treasury Management,
earned the #16 position on the list of most powerful women. This is
the fourth consecutive year she has been included in the “Most
Powerful Women in Banking” list. In 2014, Leslie’s responsibilities
significantly expanded to include Global Treasury Management, a
business with more than 600 employees and revenues over $700
million. Godridge now leads the two largest businesses in U.S.
Bank’s Wholesale Banking business line.
“Pam and Leslie are highly deserving of this honor because of
their outstanding leadership and results produced by their teams,
as well as their dedication to enriching the communities where they
live, work and volunteer,” said Richard Davis, chairman, president
and chief executive officer of U.S. Bancorp. “We are fortunate to
have them at U.S. Bancorp.”
As founder and chairman of Women Leaders in Action (WLA), Joseph
supports a team of senior women in the payments services
organization with leadership training, sponsorship and networking.
In addition the women created WLA Kids, a nonprofit group focused
on supporting children in Africa with school fees. Over the past
three years the group has helped more than 3,000 children, and
provided assistance to more than a dozen schools with books, desks,
water tanks and other furnishings. The team travels to Africa
annually to visit the schools and the children.
