Italian Integrator Deploys NET Quintum Tenor Switches to Support Microsoft OCS With VoIP

EATONTOWN, NJ , announced today that IDC, an Italian integrator
and Microsoft Certified Partner, has selected Quintum's Tenor BX
switch to support its Microsoft OCS environment with VoIP
connectivity.
IDC had previously installed another vendor's certified gateway
to implement VoIP. However, IDC encountered a variety of problems
with that gateway -- including failures connecting to the toll-free
numbers of discount long distance providers. Quintum's superior
ability to handle the pre-connection messaging of these providers
eliminated this problem.
Quintum Tenor switches provide a complete, robust gateway
solution for Microsoft OCS environments that includes 'Any to Any'
switching, built-in SIP proxy services, support for analog devices,
and remote-office survivability.
"Quintum Tenor switches are clearly superior to any other
gateway that we have used," said Valerio Capodacqua, Technical
Director, IDC. "Only the Tenor was able to meet all of our
technical requirements -- thereby enabling us to reap all the
potential business benefits that convergence offers. The Tenor
switch also delivered higher voice quality, as measured both
objectively by Microsoft's monitoring tools and subjectively by
IDC's end-users."
Capodacqua added that Quintum also provided IDC with strong
technical support.
As a result of its positive experience, IDC is now implementing
Tenor switches at several customer sites throughout Italy.
"Quintum's ability to accommodate nearly any type of existing
network and telecom infrastructure makes it a compelling choice for
resellers and integrators, as well as their customers," said Chuck
Rutledge, Quintum's VP of marketing. "We are very pleased to work
closely with IDC to address their customers' particular unique
requirements."
