FREMONT, CA , a global provider of multi-service network and
voice exchange solutions for enterprise and government customers,
announced today the appointment of John (Jack) Steeg as Vice
President of North American Enterprise. Mr. Steeg, who has more
than 35 years of experience in executive leadership and sales
roles, will lead NET's enterprise sales force as the company
strives to become a market leader in unified communications.
"In our search for a VP, we were looking for someone with deep
solutions-based selling experience who could accelerate the growth
of our enterprise solutions. We are confident in Jack's track
record of success in solution sales, combined with his experience
in motivating and directing sales teams," said Nick Keating, NET's
President and CEO. "We're pleased to welcome Jack to our team,
where he will have a key role in building NET's position in the
market."
Mr. Steeg has held senior management positions at a number of
high profile technology companies, including NCR and DELL, Unisys,
and several startups. Mr. Steeg started his career with NCR as a
programmer/analyst. During his 26-year tenure at NCR Jack held
positions in services, product marketing, and sales, leading to
roles as VP of Community Banking, Financial Systems Division and
later VP Worldwide Partners. In this last role he achieved 18 of 20
successful 100% club awards. Recruited by Dell in 1997, he moved to
Austin, Texas, where he resides today with his wife and two teenage
children. At Dell he started the Alliance Marketing Organization
and helped Dell become the leader in the server business within a
three-year period. While at Dell, Mr. Steeg also ran the Internet
Sales Division focused on hosting providers.
"Throughout my career, I have worked for technology companies
that were well positioned in rapidly emerging growth areas. Unified
communications is changing the way enterprises purchase telephony
capabilities, and early adopters are experiencing significant
return on investment as well as improvements and enhancements to
customer service and productivity. I am confident that this market
is poised for growth, so joining NET was an easy decision for me,"
said Mr. Steeg. "I'm looking forward to being a part of the strong
management team at NET, and most importantly, helping the company
position itself as a clear technology leader in this rapidly
emerging marketplace."
