GE in Talks to Buy Halliburton Drilling Assets -Bloomberg

General Electric Co. (GE) is in advanced talks to buy certain
assets of Halliburton Co. (HAL), Bloomberg News reported Wednesday
on its website, citing people familiar with the matter.
Those talks, for assets including Halliburton's
drilling-services and drill-bits divisions, are at an advanced
stage, the people told Bloomberg. Additionally, GE is in talks with
Halliburton for the Baker Hughes's completions operations, two
people told Bloomberg. Halliburton and Baker Hughes Inc. (BHI)
agreed earlier this year to merge in a $35 billion deal and are
awaiting regulatory approval.
