VCA has teamed up with the Los Angeles Kings in an ongoing
partnership that includes fundraisers and volunteer events and
activities for the benefit of animals in need. Both VCA and the LA
Kings are committed to supporting community animal welfare partners
so they can improve and enhance the lives of countless
disadvantaged cats and dogs. Blanket drives, fundraisers and
adoption fairs are some of the upcoming community initiatives that
can aid the hundreds of thousands of animals who need a much needed
helping hand to find forever homes.
"The LA Kings are thrilled to have VCA as a partner to assist in
our support of the welfare of animals," said Luc Robitaille,
President of Business Operations for the LA Kings. "We're looking
forward to working together to promote the health and happiness of
pets throughout Southern California."
“We are proud to partner with the LA Kings to help support some
of the most effective animal welfare organizations in the city,”
said Art Antin, Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder of VCA
Animal Hospitals. “Working collaboratively, VCA and the LA Kings
can make a meaningful, and often lifesaving, difference in the
lives of countless animals.”
Recent events included a blanket and pet supplies drive where LA
Kings personnel collected the items at the entrances to STAPLES
Center. The blankets and supplies were then distributed to Best
Friends Animal Society, one of Los Angeles’ leading no kill animal
sanctuaries.
On January 10, 2015, the LA Kings Dog Bowl Auction presented by
VCA takes place during the game against the Winnipeg Jets at
STAPLES Center. The Kings Care Foundation will conduct a silent
auction which features pet bowls designed and decorated by the
Kings and their significant others, and signed by the players. All
proceeds from the auction will benefit the Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Los Angeles (spcaLA).
Upcoming initiatives with the LA Kings and VCA include a major
pet adoption fair that fans can get involved with and other
community events that support treatment, housing and adoption of
homeless pets.
Kings Care Foundation
In its 17-year history, the Kings Care Foundation has donated
over seven million in monetary and in-kind support to the local Los
Angeles community. In addition to their ongoing animal welfare
support, the Kings Care Foundation recently announced a $1 million
commitment to the LA Kings BloodMobile, which serves as a blood
drive supply truck to increase the much needed collection of
life-saving blood for the most seriously ill and injured children
at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles as well as a $1 million donation
to Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, to fund the construction of
the camp’s Dining Hall and Activity Center. For more information
