Elbin Named Marsh Chief Financial Officer INDIANAPOLIS, July 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The appointment of John C. Elbin as chief financial officer for Marsh Supermarkets, Inc., (NASDAQ:MARSANASDAQ:andNASDAQ:MARSB) was announced today by Don E. Marsh, the company's chairman and chief executive officer. "John brings to us a wealth of experience and expertise in corporate finance, strategic planning, day-to-day operations, accounting, capital investments and marketing," said Mr. Marsh. "We look forward to his contributions in identifying business trends and helping shape our future growth and development." Elbin's career started in the Columbus, Ohio, office of Price Waterhouse, where he was a senior accountant from 1975 to 1979. For the next 16 years, he held a variety of management positions for Pet Incorporated, an international NYSE packaged food company headquartered in St. Louis, and was Chief Financial Officer for five years. More recently, Elbin was for four years vice president, chief financial officer, secretary and board member for Lilly Industries, Inc., the Indianapolis-based NYSE specialty chemical company. The new Marsh CFO is a graduate of Florida State University. A certified public accountant, Elbin also is a graduate of the Columbia University Executive Program.
