Italian media company Mediaset SpA (MS.MI) may consider buying a stake in Digital+, the pay-satellite TV platform owned by Spanish media group Promotora de Informaciones SA (PRS.MC), or Prisa, reports Expansion in its Tuesday Internet edition.

Mediaset would be also looking to integrate Prisa's free-to-air TV channel Cuatro with its Spanish unit Gestevision Telecinco SA (TL5.MC), the paper adds.

Mediaset is allegedly looking to get on board Spanish telecommunications company Telefonica SA (TEF) to carry out these investments, according to Expansion.

Prisa, which is struggling with a debt load of EUR5 billion, is seeking to sell stakes in key assets to improve its finances at a time when the global media industry is facing unprecedented challenges.
