Shares of telecommunications companies ticked up as traders bet
the sector would see further consolidation.
The judge who will be overseeing the antitrust trial on
AT&T's proposed acquisition of Time Warner has set March 19 as
the trial's opening date.
Australian regulators said they won't oppose the merger of News
Corp's Fox Sports Australia and Foxtel, another sports network
partly owned by News Corp., the publisher of this item.
Shares of 21st Century Fox, which is reportedly weighing the
sale of assets, rose sharply.
Protests against the overturning of net neutrality rules are set
to occur outside about 700 Verizon Communications stores tonight.
Verizon became associated with resistance to net neutrality concept
when it sued against an early federal attempt to regulate
Internet-access rights.
