FOND DU LAC, Wis., Nov. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercury
Marine, the world leader in marine propulsion and technology has
released its 2017 Sustainability Report. The report details
the company's progress towards its key pillars of energy,
environment, products and people.
The report highlights fuel-efficient products, water and energy
conservation milestones and features a brand-new solar panel roof
at Mercury's EMEA headquarters. Additionally, the report
shows that, in each of the major categories of its sustainability
initiative, Mercury has met or exceeded its goals.
"It is our job to make sound business decisions that are not
only good for the company but also good for the planet," said
John Pfeifer, Mercury Marine president. "We are committed to
manufacturing products that reduce energy consumption, give our
consumers improved fuel efficiency, reduce emissions and decrease
the use of natural resources. In addition, our manufacturing
facilities are committed to sustainable practices. And our
employees share experiences that enhance the quality of our lives
and the lives of people in the communities where we work and
live."
The four pillars of Mercury
Marine's sustainability initiative are:
Energy: Achieving greater
energy efficiency by implementing energy-reducing projects,
promoting best practices in energy management and employing new
energy technologies.
Environment: Preserving the natural places where customers
use Mercury products for work and play; decreasing the use of
natural resources through conservation, redeployment and recycling;
and returning purified resources to the planet whenever
possible.
Product: Minimizing engines' impact on water, land and air —
recognizing the need for an unspoiled environment in which to live
and enjoy Mercury Marine
products.
People: Helping people who relate with Mercury Marine — employees, partners, customers
and the communities where Mercury operates — to enjoy happier,
healthier, and more fulfilling lives.
According to Pfeifer, a call to leadership accompanies Mercury's
commitment to sustainability. "Our future growth will be driven by
our continued dedication to be the best corporate citizen and to
set an example whereby the sustainable practices of one become the
sustainable practices of all."
