Analyst Firm Finds FireEye User Behavior
Analytics and Threat Hunting Capabilities to Be Key Differentiators
for SIEM Solutions
FireEye, Inc. (NASDAQ: FEYE), the intelligence-led security
company, today announced that Frost & Sullivan has ranked the
FireEye® Threat Analytics Platform™ (TAP™) for leading technologies
in security incident and event management (SIEM) solutions.
In the report ‘Security Information and Event Management Global
Market Analysis, Forecast to 2021 – The Transition to SIEM 3.0,’
the analyst firm recognized FireEye TAP for its industry-leading
User Behavior Analytics (UBA), which have become differentiating
features between platform providers. In addition, the report
identified that the threat hunting capabilities in FireEye TAP go
beyond traditional alerts by offering end users a Guided
Investigation section that informs security teams of the best
approach to dealing with an attack, based on real-world expertise
from Mandiant® incident
responders.
The report also found that most SIEM customers were burdened
with implementation costs that exceed the initial software purchase
cost by 3-5 times and that users often spend more time maintaining
rather than using their SIEM. FireEye TAP excelled in cost and
efficiency for managing security events rather than
maintenance.
“FireEye TAP’s advanced capabilities have disrupted the SIEM
market,” said FireEye CTO Grady Summers. “Working in conjunction
with our revolutionary security operations platform – FireEye Helix
– FireEye TAP enables customers to operationalize detection with
our leading intelligence and orchestration for a truly
security-focused solution. Customers can finally move beyond
compliance and focus on protecting their organizations from the
threats that matter.”
“FireEye has a unique approach to security because they are
able to capture their insights from investigating breaches and
design a SIEM solution based on frontline experience,” said
Christopher Kissel, senior analyst, Frost & Sullivan. “The
advantage of this approach came through in our report, as FireEye
led in the User Behavior Analytics and threat hunting
capabilities areas, key capabilities for any organization
building a modern security program.”
