Company (NYSE: LLY) today announced Philip
Johnson has been appointed to senior vice president,
Finance, and treasurer effective January 1,
2018. Johnson currently serves as vice president for
Investor Relations at Lilly. He will report to Joshua Smiley, who will become senior vice
president and chief financial officer effective January 1, 2018. Johnson will continue to lead
Lilly's investor relations efforts.

Johnson has been with Lilly 22 years, serving in a variety of
financial roles in the U.S. and overseas. He has been in his
current role since 2007 and before that was vice president,
Finance, and chief financial officer for Global Manufacturing and
Quality. Prior to joining Lilly, Johnson worked for six years in
investment banking and management consulting in the U.S. and
Europe.
