Two Wealth Managers from UBS Join First Republic

First Republic Bank (NYSE: FRC), a leading private bank and wealth management company, today announced that wealth managers Mark Friedman and Mitchell Peters have joined First Republic Private Wealth Management.

Formerly of UBS, Friedman and Peters were each named Managing Director and Wealth Manager and will work at First Republic Investment Management in San Francisco. Friedman has been on the lists of top financial advisors for Barron’s, Financial Times and San Francisco Business Times. Peters has been on the list of the San Francisco Business Times’ list of top wealth advisors.

Both wealth managers will work with clients to provide portfolio management, retirement planning and other wealth management services to individuals, families, nonprofits and foundations.

Friedman has more than 20 years of experience in the wealth management industry. Prior to joining First Republic, Friedman was Managing Director with UBS in its Private Wealth Management division for 10 years. Before that, he spent the previous 15 years at Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch as a Senior Vice President of Investments. Friedman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from California State University, Chico.

Peters has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Before First Republic, he was Senior Vice President of Investments with UBS in its Private Wealth Management division for 12 years. From 2001 to 2004, he was Co-Founder/Portfolio Manager of Chilmark Capital LLC, a long/short equity hedge fund. Previously, he was Vice President in the Executive Financial Services division at Hambrecht & Quist. He began his career at SG Cowen in 1996. Peters holds a Master of Science degree in Financial Analysis from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
