US NFIB business optimism index advanced in July

In the US, the NFIB business optimism index rose to 89.90 in July, compared to a reading of 89.50 in the prior month.

Japan PPI climbed more than anticipated in July

In Japan, the producer price index (PPI) advanced 8.60% on a YoY basis in July, compared to a revised rise of 9.40% in the previous month. Markets were anticipating the PPI to record a rise of 8.40%.

China CPI advanced less than expected in July

In China, the consumer price index (CPI) climbed 2.70% on a YoY basis in July, compared to a rise of 2.50% in the prior month. Market expectations were for the CPI were to record a rise of 2.90%.

China PPI climbed less than anticipated in July

In China, the PPI rose 4.20% on a YoY basis in July, compared to a rise of 6.10% in the previous month. Market anticipations were for the PPI to record a rise of 8.00%.
