UK S&P Global construction PMI dropped more than forecasted in September

In the UK, the S&P Global construction PMI fell to a level of 45.00 in September, compared to a level of 50.80 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to drop to 49.90.

German trade surplus unexpectedly widened in August

In Germany, trade surplus unexpectedly widened to €16.60 billion in August, compared to a revised surplus of €15.90 billion in the previous month.

US initial jobless claims rose less than anticipated in the week ended 29 September 2023

In the US, initial jobless claims advanced to 207.00K in the week ended 29 September 2023, compared to a revised 205.00K jobs in the prior week. Markets were expecting jobless claims to rise to 210.00K.
