A total of 230 contract workers at the U.K.'s South Hook
liquefied natural gas terminal in southwest Wales, are on strike
Monday, a spokesperson at the terminal said in an e-mailed
statement.
"I can confirm that approximately 230 of the contract
construction workforce working on the build of Phase 2 at the South
Hook terminal near Milford Haven have walked off site today."
"We understand this action is linked to the recent industrial
relations activity at the Lindsey Oil refinery."
The workers are "taking steps" to resolve the matter with their
contract employees, the statement said adding, normal operations at
terminal aren't affected by the industrial action.
South Hook is owned by three shareholders, Qatar Petroleum is
has the majority stake owning 67.5% of the terminal, while Exxon
Mobil Corp. (XOM) and Total SA (TOT) hold 24.15% and 8.35%
