Retirement of director and appointment of Senior Independent Director


As previously advised on 2 March 2004, Taylor Woodrow plc, the housing and
development company, announces that Sir George Russell, CBE, a non-executive
director, retired from the board on Monday 19 April 2004.  The board
acknowledges and thanks Sir George for his significant contribution to the
business during his term of office as a director since December 1992.



Mr. Michael Davies, who has been a non-executive director since October 2003,
becomes the senior independent non-executive director of the company.
