               Taylor Woodrow Appoints Non-Executive Director

Taylor Woodrow plc, the housing and development company, today announces the
appointment of Andrew Dougal as a non-executive Director.  This announcement
follows the recent appointment of the new Finance Director Peter Johnson, with
both appointments becoming effective on 18 November 2002.

Mr. Dougal has spent the last sixteen years with Hanson, including a number of
years within ARC, its building materials subsidiary.  He was finance director of
Hanson plc from 1995 to 1997 and Chief Executive from 1997 until 2002.

In connection with the appointment of Andrew Dougal as a Director of Taylor
Woodrow plc on 18th November 2002, the company confirms that there are no
details requiring disclosure under paragraphs 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Listing
Rules of the Financial Services Authority.
