William Sinclair Gets Pact To Supply Compost To Sainsbury

William Sinclair Holdings PLC (SNCL.LN), which supplies a range of horticultural products to both the retail and professional grower markets, said Monday it has won the national contract to supply its Multi-Purpose growing compost to J Sainsbury PLC (SBRY.LN).

MAIN FACTS:

-William Sinclair will provide Sainsbury's with its J.Arthur Bowers branded compost ahead of the busy 2011 spring growing season.

-Contract represents 75% of all of Sainsbury's compost requirements.

-William Sinclair will begin delivering its compost to Sainsbury's on Feb. 15 and the J.Arthur Bowers product will be available to Sainsbury's customers from Feb. 23.

-No financial terms disclosed.

-William Sinclair shares at 0830 GMT up 2 pence, or 1.2%, at 167 pence valuing the company at GBP28.35 million.
