William Sinclair Retail expands distribution and storage
facilities as growth at accelerates
William Sinclair Horticulture Limited, one of the UK's leading
suppliers of growing media, announces that it has opened a new
satellite distribution depot in the Midlands.
The new depot, which is being provided by supply chain providers
The Canute Group, is required to cover both the anticipated growth
of William Sinclair Retail sales and the significant increase in
the level of finished goods stock that William Sinclair has
prepared in advance of the season ahead in order to maintain and
improve service levels.
Reflecting the close working relationship between the two
companies Canute's have a transport manager who is now located
within William Sinclair's operations to provide specialist support
alongside William Sinclair's own distribution team.
In addition, following the introduction of summer manufacturing
by William Sinclair, the Company has also increased the acreage of
its own storage capability at the Company's factory in
Carlisle.

we are expecting 2011 to be a year of unprecedented demand for our
high quality growing media.
"With our total focus on customer service we are finalising our
distribution plans as we aim to surpass our clients' expectations.
As part of our planning the Canute Group, who are a key partner in
our logistics operation, are working closer than ever with us with

Notes:
-- William Sinclair's brands include J Arthur Bowers and the
award winning New Horizon. New Horizon has won nine Which? Best Buy
awards.
-- William Sinclair recently launched its peat free alternative
under the trade name SuperFyba.
-- With similar characteristics to peat, SuperFyba looks and
behaves like peat, but is made from a renewable by-product from the
production of green compost.
-- Sinclair's significant investment in new technologies has
secured an end use for this by- product, avoiding the need for it
to go to landfill.
-- Approved by Nottingham Trent University, SuperFyba is already
being used by a number of customers and many professional growers
are using the product for their own in house trials of peat
alternatives.
