Morgan Est joint venture wins #336m project to widen M1

Morgan Est, a division of Morgan Sindall plc, the construction group, and joint
venture partners Vinci Construction and Sir Robert McAlpine have been awarded a
#336 million contract by the Highways Agency to widen the M1 motorway.

The project, which is worth up to #90 million to Morgan Est, will involve
constructing a new inside lane and hard shoulder along approximately 23km of the
M1, from junction 25 to junction 28. The works will also include the relocation
of drainage networks, signs and lighting, central reserve works and, where
necessary, alterations to 45 bridge structures.

The project starts in March 2007 and is due to be completed in 2009.

Paul Smith, Chief Executive of Morgan Sindall, said:

"The Highways Agency is one of our key clients and the M1 widening is an
exciting scheme, so we are delighted to have been selected along with our
partners."
