Thomas Cook

first UK airline accredited for offline Chip and Pin

system for on board retail sales

Belgravium Technologies plc ("Belgravium" or "the Group"), the designer and supplier of computing solutions and services for the mobile computing market, is pleased to announce that Thomas Cook Airlines has become the first UK airline to be granted accreditation from banks for the processing of chip and pin card sales using the system developed by Novo Ivc, Belgraviums' wholly owned subsidiary.

From the 1(st) of June 2012 passengers across the entire Thomas Cook fleet of aircraft have been able to pay for in flight purchases using the handheld devices which utilise, software developed by Novo. In addition to retail sales, these handheld units have the capability of providing essential news and information, the transmission of automated reports within minutes of landing and accurate cash control and reconciliation.

This important new development for Novo was achieved through its collaboration with ALPHA Inflight Retail with whom it has worked successfully for over twenty years and which provides sales expertise and the very latest inflight sales and EPOS systems technology to over thirty airlines around the world. These include Monarch Airlines with whom ALPHA and Novo also successfully collaborated in the installation of an onboard retail system which was announced in November 2011.

Novo systems are currently in use on 3000 daily journeys by over 50,000 flight attendants handling sales in excess of GBP540million.

Novo's clients include Air Berlin, South African Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Jet 2 and Thomas Cook.

Commenting today, John Kembery, Executive Chairman of Belgravium Technologies plc said:

" We are delighted to have been able to work with ALPHA Inflight Retail in the successful installation of this system into the Thomas Cook Fleet, which is an airline with one of the highest levels of retail sales in the world. It is therefore critical that their electronic point of sale (EPOS) system is robust, multifunctional and easy to use and the feedback we received from the Thomas Cook Air Crew in pre-launch trials was very positive and confirmed this. Looking forward, we will continue to develop the software adding additional features and confident that our system will be a very attractive solution to the other airlines around the world with whom we are currently talking.
