             Appointment of Non-Executive Director
 
Mr  Tom  Sooke was appointed a non-executive director of  Bandt
plc  on  29 October 1998.  Mr Sooke is Chairman and a  founding
director of CitiCourt & Co Ltd, and is also a non-executive  of
Quester VCT plc.
 
Prior  to  its  sale to 3i he was a non-executive  director  of
Baronsmead Investment Trust plc, and prior to its sale  to  AEA
Technology,  he  was a non-executive director of Transportation
Consultants International Ltd.
 
Bandt  plc  is  a provider of scaffolding and other  industrial
services   to   construction   and   manufacturing   businesses
throughout the UK.
