ATLANTIC TELECOM GROUP PLC

Atlantic Telecom Group PLC (the "Company") today posted a
document to shareholders comprising a circular and listing
particulars in connection with the proposed acquisition of
First Telecom Group Plc (the "Acquisition") which was
announced on 27 April 2000.

The Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company to approve
the Acquisition will be held at 12 noon on 7 June 2000 at
the offices of Ashurst Morris Crisp, Broadwalk House, 5
Appold Street, London EC2A 2HA.
