                       DECLARATION OF ANNUAL DIVIDEND

Notice is hereby given that at the annual general meting of shareholders held in
Luxembourg on 3 August 1999, shareholders ratified and confirmed the directors'
proposal to declare an annual dividend of 60 South African cents per share
payable to members registered in the books of the company at the close of
business on Friday 6 August 1999.

Dividends will be electronically transferred to members' bank or building
society accounts on 20 August 1999 or, where this method of payment has not been
mandated, dividend warrants will be posted to members on 19 August 1999.

The register of members will be closed from 7 to 13 August 1999, inclusive.
