National League of Poker Holds the Winning Hand for Legal Online Poker Play

The National League of Poker (NLOP), the leading Free poker site
for US-compliant poker game-play on the web, announced today it
will make its national debut at the Gaming Life Expo at the Rio
Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, July 5th through 8th, during the
World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event. NLOP is the only online
poker play site that has been allowed to have a presence at the
Expo a stark contrast to last years event where over a dozen
online poker sites, including Party Poker and Poker Stars, had
significant presence. This industry paradigm shift can be
attributed to the October 2006 passing of the Unlawful Internet
Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA). This law is aimed to cut off the
flow of funds to offshore gambling sites. The act virtually put a
stop to almost all offshore poker sites, some who had built huge
market capitalizations on foreign market exchanges. Since the
UIGEA, most casino and poker sites have shuttered their US
operations, leaving an estimated 75+ million poker-playing
Americans 30 million of which played at online poker sites with
a huge void. NLOP is completely free to play, but more
significantly, we have created a game play methodology and points
system that makes the game feel like real-money sites, said
Michael Clebnik, Chief Executive Officer for NLOP. Playing poker
for free is only enjoyable if there is something to win and
something to lose, and there is a lot to win on our site. Each
month, NLOP guarantees $25,000 in cash and prizes, including trips,
electronics, sponsor specials and more. NLOP first launched in
June 2006 and today has over 125,000 registered users, delivering
over 22 million minutes of poker play last month alone. NLOP
operates like a Fantasy Sports-style poker web site and community
with weekly leader boards and points based competitions. Since
March 2007, NLOP has awarded twelve $1,500 WSOP seats, plus
expenses, and a $10,000 WSOP seat to the main event. The winner of
the main event seat, David Berinsky, from Pittsburgh, PA won the
Poker and Pigskin Championship at NLOP which culminated ten weeks
of free poker competition. Berinsky won a $10,000 buy-in to the
2007 World Series of Poker event in Las Vegas and commented NLOP
was a great find because its different. It gives you the luxury of
not having stress on your wallet and you can focus more on your
game. NLOP has very cool prizes that people cannot afford to buy
themselves. For on-site interviews with Michael Clebnik, visit
