France's major telecom operators said Tuesday they will sell Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) new iPhone in their stores and online from June 24.

France Telecom (FTE), Vivendi SA's (VIV.FR) SFR, and Bouygues Telecom, a unit of building-to-broadcasting conglomerate Bouygues SA (EN.FR), all said they will sell the new handset as the iPhone has become an important driver of their sales.

Apple on Monday introduced the latest generation of its iPhone, dubbed the iPhone 4. It has a host of new features the company hopes will fuel the smartphone's growth and further solidify Apple's leadership in the mobile gadget market.
