Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (RR.LN) said on Monday that it has launched a new series of engines, which will be the sole engine for Bombardier Inc.'s (BBD.A.T) latest business jets, the Global 5500 and Global 6500 aircraft.

The U.K. engineering company said that the Pearl 15 engine is the first of a planned engine family for business aviation and that it is currently undergoing tests at Bombardier's flight-test center in Wichita, Kansas, with a planned entry into service at the end of 2019.

Rolls-Royce said that to date it has delivered close to 1,700 engines to Bombardier.
