Merck KGaA said Tuesday that it is partnering with Finland's
Optitune and South Korea's Solip Tech in order to speed up the
commercialization of liviFlex, a new range of materials for OLED
displays.
"liviFlex offers a novel range of display materials that
addresses challenges in the manufacture of flexible, foldable and
rollable OLED displays, which are known as free-form displays," the
German pharmaceuticals and chemicals company said.
Merck said that revenue of free-form displays should reach $8.9
billion by 2025, which would be 13 times as much as what the
segment generates currently.
