GoSolarUSA (Pink Sheets: GSLO) celebrated the arrival Tuesday of
the company’s first commercial shipment of Volt Solar Chargers from
the manufacturers in China.
Anticipation for the iPhone accessory’s U.S. debut has been high
since GSLO ordered mass production of the Volt in late February.
The Volt Solar Charger is a powerful battery pack that attaches to
the iPhone and extends the device’s talk time using a built-in
solar panel and a 1500 mAh rechargeable battery. The initial
manufacturing run of the Volt is compatible with the iPhone 3,
iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 and comes in both black and white.
“It’s immensely satisfying to see the Volt reach American shores
at last,” said GSLO President and CEO Tyson Rohde. “We have
received a tremendous amount of interest in the product, and we are
making preparations now to get Volt Solar Chargers into the hands
of consumers as soon as possible.”
Citing the unprecedented growth in iPhone users here, GoSolarUSA
has worked to bring the Volt’s high-performance solar technology to
the U.S. for months in order to capitalize on the market dynamics
of the smartphone accessories industry. GSLO signed a distribution
agreement with Xiamen Solar Electronics earlier this year providing
the company with the exclusive right to sell and distribute the
Volt in North America, the world’s largest market for iPhone
accessories.
“This initial shipment is currently being inventoried for
shipment to American consumers,” Rohde said. “We know that Apple
fans are eager to get their hands on this device, but we’re being
careful to ensure supply-chain efficiency before we begin
large-scale distribution.”
Those hoping to be among the first to own a Volt Solar Charger
can sign up for the device’s waiting list at GoSolarUSA.com. 100
randomly selected contestants will receive a free Volt with no
purchase necessary. To enter, reserve your Volt today
