Strong holiday sales of Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) products this year will boost the market for accessories designed for use with portable devices such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, said GoSolarUSA (PinkSheets: GSLO) President and CEO Tyson Rohde.

As holiday shopping winds down for the year, industry analysts are proclaiming the Apple iPad as the season’s hottest gift item. The iPad was tagged by many commentators around the globe as a top gift idea for 2010, and Oprah Winfrey declared the tablet computer her “all-time favorite” thing on a recent telecast. The breakthrough iOS-based device was consumers’ tablet computer of choice in a banner year for e-tabs, according to Wedge Partners analyst Brian Blair. Though official holiday sales figures are not yet available, some predicted six million iPads to be sold in the current quarter alone.

Other Apple products were hot sellers during the holiday shopping season, as well. Amazon.com announced Monday that the iPod Touch media player was its (NASDAQ: AMZN) second best-selling electronic device during the holiday season behind the Kindle e-book reader. Apple expects sales of its iPhone to keep growing, too: The company has raised its target for first-quarter shipments by as much as 10 percent.

“The market for Apple accessories has undeniably grown by a substantial margin over the holiday shopping season,” Rohde said. “The projected sales for Apple products in this quarter and beyond prompted GoSolarUSA to invest in the development of groundbreaking mobile accessories such as the PREEcharge and the Peel 520. We are convinced there is a very strong market for accessories designed for use with Apple devices.”

GoSolarUSA is also funding the development of accessories designed for use with products from Apple’s top competitors, including Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) Android devices and Research in Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM) BlackBerry smartphones. Both of those companies enjoyed strong holiday sales, as well.

GoSolarUSA is dedicated to aggressively acquiring, developing and marketing promising and potentially profitable technology. The iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad are products of Apple Inc., which competes in the global mobile electronics market against Google and Research in Motion.
