Aperam Separates Brazil Biomass Unit From ArcelorMittal's

Stainless steel producer Aperam (APAM.AE) said Tuesday it has
split its Brazilian biomass unit from ArcelorMittal's (MT) biomass
operation.
MAIN FACTS:
- Aperam's biomass operations constitute a leading company in
the sector of biomass production for the steel industry with forest
management, harvesting machinery and carbonisation kilns.
- In 2010, they produced 220,000 tons of charcoal.
- Aperam plans to start to switch all its stainless and
electrical steel production in Brazil from coke to charcoal from
end of June.
- Aperam was spun off from ArcelorMittal earlier this year.
