CALGARY, Sept. 24, 2013 /CNW/ - Nick Taylor, president and CEO of Softrock
Minerals Ltd (TSX-V SFT) released a progress report on the
company's Alberta activities
He states that the company has applied to the Alberta Government
for a lease extension on their 640 ac oil and gas lease in
the Charlie Lake producing trend
of Northwest Alberta to give more
time for farmout negotiations
He further notes that in the last few weeks , the main operator
in the area , Exshaw Oil
Corp ( a subsidiary of Tourmaline Oil Corp) has applied to the
Alberta Government for altered spacing units that will permit
horizontal well completions in the sections offsetting to the south
and southwest of the company's lease
In addition, Exshaw
has also announced a shallower than Charlie Lake Triassic test immediately
south of the Softrock lease which may be intended to test the Doe
Creek horizon, a bed that produces in places in the area.
On the Industrial Mineral front, Taylor says the company
has obtained a two year extension from the Alberta Department
of Energy for its 9,216 Ha (20,709 ac) Permit for potash and
diamonds in the Chinchaga area of northwest Alberta.
