Amerix Changes the Board of Directors and Announces the Appointment of Officers

TORONTO, ONTARIO (TSX VENTURE: APM)(FRANKFURT: NJG) announces
that it has changed the Board of Directors and has appointed new
officers subject to TSX Venture Exchange acceptance.
These changes include the following appointments to the new
Board of Directors and Senior Management:
Jeffrey Reeder has been appointed to the Board of Directors and
will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer and President of
the Company. Mr. Reeder is a professional geologist registered with
APEGBC in the Province of British Columbia and holds a BSc Degree
with a specialization in geology from the University of Alberta.
Mr. Reeder has worked extensively throughout Latin America for the
last 15 years and has significant mineral discoveries to his
credit. Mr. Reeder has worked extensively in tropical environments
and has extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with exploring
for gold in deeply weathered terrains similar to Amerix's Brazilian
properties. Mr. Reeder is currently a director of Duran Ventures
and Lateegra Gold Corporation and was previously a director of
Acero-Martin Exploration.
Gregory Liddy, the current president of McLaren Resources Inc.,
a Canadian public company active in the exploration for hydrocarbon
resources in the Dutch sector of the North Sea has been appointed
to the Board of Directors. Mr. Liddy was previously a director of
Merrill Lynch Canada and a partner in BBN James Capel Inc. He has
served as an expert witness to the Standing Committee on Resource
Development of the Ontario Legislature and as a consultant to the
Embassy of the United States of America, Ottawa with respect to
trade matters involving the North American steel industry. He has
also served as the Canadian representative on the Financial
Reporting Policy Committee of the Association for Investment
Management and Research (AIMR). Mr. Liddy is a past director of
Hawker Siddely Canada Inc. and chairman of its audit committee.
William Whitehead has been appointed to the Board of Directors.
Mr. Whitehead began his career in the heavy equipment rental
business as a rental manager and worked his way up to becoming a
major partner. His entrepreneurial spirit then lead him through a
successful and varied career of investments including but not
limited to the building and operating of the first privately owned
nursing home in Ontario, numerous commercial real estate ventures,
as well as residential subdivision developments. He also owned and
operated a business that was fully licensed by the Ontario Gaming
Commission. He served as a member of the Ontario Parole Board
during the 1980's. He is a past director of CanClean Services. He
was one of the original partners with Blue Beacon of Canada Truck
Washes and represented other investors in their 1998 merger with
CanClean Services Limited. He continues to serve as a director of
GLR Resources (a mining operation), a position he has held for over
30 years.
Dan Hamilton has been appointed to the role of Chief Financial
Officer of the Company. Mr. Hamilton brings over 25 years of
post-qualification experience in accounting and financial roles,
including service as Chief Financial
Officer of Crystallex International and Vice President, Group
Controller of Amec Americas (formerly AGRA Inc.). Mr. Hamilton is a
current director and Chair of the Audit Committee for Silk Road
Resources.
The Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of Dr.
Lawrence Snee as Vice President - Exploration.
Subject to regulatory approval, Amerix has granted incentive
stock options to its directors, officers, consultants and employees
under its stock option plan for the purchase of up to 2,075,000
common shares of the Company for a period of five years at a price
of 55 cents per share. The options held by the four former
directors of the Company remain exercisable until the end of the
option period determined by the Board of Directors at the time of
the grant of the applicable option.
