Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) today announced the release of its 2010 Corporate Responsibility Report, providing updates on key aspects of its corporate responsibility programs. The report, titled “Taking it Personally”, is available online at www.pb.com/responsibility

The 2010 report covers six broad categories: Business Practices, Environment, Diversity and Inclusion, People, Customers and Suppliers, and Community. Included in the report are program details, performance metrics and case studies that explore progress that the company has made in each of these areas.

Among the report’s highlights:

  • The company achieved double-digit percentage improvement in customer satisfaction on a global basis.
  • The company received third party validation of its CO2 footprint from the Coalition for Energy and Environmental Leadership in Leased Space
  • The company’s grant making, focused on education and literacy, supported the enrichment of more than 30,000 public school students across the U.S.
  • Company employees committed more than 70,000 hours to causes that support the well being of their communities
  • The company recycled more than 6.5 million pounds of materials--including copper, aluminum, steel, plastic, cardboard and paper--through its “product take back” program in the U.S. and Canada
  • The company’s Management Services division won the Supplier Excellence award from Eastman Chemical for achieving a service delivery level of 99% while delivering more than $720,000 in cost savings and process improvements
  • The company earned honors from numerous non-profits and media outlets worldwide, including Asia Best Employer Brand Awards, the National Association of Female Executives, and India’s Great Places to Work Institute
