Pitney Bowes Japan has announced it has entered into a new
relationship with Canon Marketing Japan Inc. that will enable Canon
to sell the Pitney Bowes DM100 postage meter to small- and
medium-size businesses throughout Japan.
Pitney Bowes Japan Inc. recently signed a distribution agreement
with Canon System & Support Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of
Canon Marketing Japan. Canon System & Support is now conducting
its first test-marketing of the DM100 postage meter and will
commence formal sales before the end of July. Canon System &
Support’s highly-effective sales channel to small- and medium-size
companies complements the strong relationships that Pitney Bowes
Japan already enjoys with large corporate customers in Japan.
The two companies hope to expand the distribution agreement at a
later time to include additional products and technologies from
Pitney Bowes, including inserters, folders, and software
systems.
“Japan is a key market for Pitney Bowes in the Asia-Pacific
region, and I’m very pleased to have secured Canon Marketing Japan
as our main distributor here,” said Eric Yves-Mahe, president,
Pitney Bowes Asia-Pacific & Middle East. “This relationship
will improve our market coverage and is a key milestone in our
regional channel strategy.”
