(NYSE: MFA) announced today that it has named Gudmundur Kristjansson and Bryan Wulfsohn
Co-Chief Investment Officers of the company effective January 1, 2019.
"These appointments reflect the substantial contributions Bryan
and Gudmundur have made to the investment activities and day-to-day
management of MFA over the past several years as we have expanded
the universe of residential mortgage assets in which we invest
beyond mortgage-backed securities," said Craig L. Knutson, MFA's Chief Executive Officer
and President. Mr. Knutson continued, "Their efforts in
developing MFA's investment strategy, evaluating and structuring a
broad range of residential mortgage investment opportunities,
directing the asset management process and cultivating counterparty

leadership."
Mr. Kristjansson, 38, joined MFA in 2007, and currently serves
as a Senior Vice President of the company. From 2005 to 2007,
Mr. Kristjansson served as an Associate in Trading and Analytics at
Performance Trust Capital Partners where he focused on fixed income
strategy and research as well as developing fixed income analytics.
Mr. Kristjansson holds a Master of Engineering degree in
Operations Research from Cornell
University and a B.S. in Mechanical and Industrial
Engineering from the University of Iceland (Reykjavik).
Mr. Wulfsohn, 35, joined MFA in 2010, and currently serves
as a Senior Vice President of the company. From 2008 to 2010,
Mr. Wulfsohn served as a Senior Financial Analyst at Retail
Properties of America, Inc., where he focused on corporate
strategy. From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Wulfsohn served as an
associate in the capital markets group at CBA Commercial, LLC, an
acquirer and securitizer of small balance commercial mortgages.
Mr. Wulfsohn holds a B.A. from Franklin
and Marshall College, and he is a CFA charterholder.
