McKesson Corp. said Wednesday it has revamped its business
units, a move the company said will help it operate more
efficiently
The distributor of pharmaceuticals and other health products
will start using four reportable segments:
U.S. Pharmaceutical and Specialty Solutions segment will focus
on wholesale drug distribution and technology products for retail
pharmacies, health systems and other clients, the company said, as
well as U.S. oncology offerings.
Prescription Technology Solutions encompasses the company's work
with biopharma and life sciences partners and patients.
International covers McKesson Canada's and McKesson Europe's
drug distribution services, specialty pharmacy, retail and infusion
care services in those markets.
The fourth segment, Medical-Surgical Solutions, is unaffected by
the realignment, the company said.
"McKesson expects to transition to financial reporting under the
new four-segment structure for periods commencing after the first
quarter of fiscal 2021," the company added.
