Fiduciary Trust’s Ellen Kratzer Named Chair of STEP USA

Fiduciary Trust Company International, a global wealth manager and

that Ellen Kratzer, managing director, has been appointed chair of
STEP USA, the national organization overseeing the 18 branches and
chapters of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP)
in the United States.

inheritance and succession planning, as well as maintaining the
highest professional standards among the trust and estate
professionals who serve them,” said Ms. Kratzer. “I am honored to
be in a position to work with my STEP USA peers to help them
coordinate their educational and professional development
activities across the country.”
STEP seeks to educate the public about inheritance and
succession planning issues faced by families, as well as promote
high professional standards among those who work in the trust and
estate field. The organization offers a variety of qualifications,
professional development programs, and networking opportunities for
its members. STEP is headquartered in London and includes more than
20,000 members from 95 countries.
Ms. Kratzer serves Fiduciary Trust clients in the US, Canada,
Europe and Asia. She is responsible for maintaining and managing
relationships with individuals, families and their advisors, and
collaborating with them to find the best solutions for achieving
clients’ goals. Ms. Kratzer is widely recognized for her expertise
and her contributions to the industry, having been named a “Woman
of Influence” by the New York Business Journal in 2018. She also
received the “Wall Street Women of Excellence Award” from Traders
Magazine in 2013.

Prior to becoming chair of STEP USA, Ms. Kratzer served as vice
chair of the regional board of directors. She is also a member of
the Estate Planning Council of New York City, and the International
Bar Association’s Private Client Committee. Ms. Kratzer is
currently co-chair of the Council for Canadian-American Relations
and is a former chair of the United Nations High Commissioner for
Refugees’ US board. From 2014 to 2016, Ms. Kratzer was president of
the Association of Junior Leagues International, comprising 150,000
women volunteers across 291 Junior Leagues in the US, Canada,
Mexico and the UK.
