BALTIMORE, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Constellation Energy (NYSE:CEG) today announced that its subsidiary, Constellation Energy Projects & Services Group, has been recognized with a prestigious award by the National Council for Public-Private Partnerships for its successful partnership with the City of Nashville in development of a new district energy system. Retained by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Metro), Constellation Energy Projects & Services Group designed, constructed and now operates a new $46 million district energy system in Nashville. The state-of-the-art system replaced an aging system that relied on a trash- burning plant with limited reliability and capacity and is projected to save Metro nearly $67 million in its first 10 years of operation. While working to build the new district energy system, Constellation Energy Projects & Services Group worked to increase the interim efficiency of the old plant, resulting in a seamless transition for customers. The new district energy system provides heating and cooling for approximately 40 buildings in downtown Nashville, including the State Capitol and other government buildings; the NFL's Tennessee Titans stadium; the Gaylord Entertainment Center, home of the NHL Nashville Predators; and a number of privately owned office buildings and hotels. "It is an honor to be recognized by the National Council for Public- Private Partnerships with this award," said Greg Jarosinski, president of Constellation Energy's Projects & Services Group. "We worked with the City of Nashville in this collaborative effort to design and develop a customized district energy system that meets its needs and provides added value." Each year, the National Council for Public-Private Partnerships, a non- profit, non-partisan organization, recognizes organizations that have successfully completed a unique and innovative public-private partnership. This prestigious award recognizes projects and individuals, illustrating some of the best practices and applications in the field of public-private partnerships.
