One closely watched question is whether Chief Executive David
Calhoun will ask the federal government for help. Boeing has said
in the past that the U.S. aerospace industry needed $60 billion in
aid, but has since shown reluctance to accept public funds if they
come with costly strings attached. "The Strategic Costs of Boeing's
Dash for Cash -- Heard on the Street" at 5:58 a.m. ET, incorrectly
said David Calhoun will tap the federal government's $60 billion
aid package for the aerospace industry. He was previously reluctant
to accept public aid on the basis that it could come with costly
strings attached.
