--The chief executive of American International Group Inc. (AIG) said the insurer has run up catastrophe losses estimated between $750 million and $800 million in the fourth quarter, Reuters reported Wednesday.

--Speaking at a conference in New York City, Brian Duperreault said that figure doesn't include losses for December, the report said.

--The company anticipates an overall 8% adjusted return on equity going into 2019, he said, according to the report.
