VEON Ltd. (VEON) on Thursday said it named Chairman Ursula Burns to the additional post of chief executive.

Ms. Burns, who joined the Amsterdam telecommunications company as chairman in 2017, has been serving as executive chairman since the March resignation of Jean-Yves Charlier as CEO.

Ms. Burns is best known for her time at printer and copier company Xerox Corp. (XRX), where she served as chairman from 2010 to 2017 and CEO from 2009 to 2016.
