Nexgen will use SRS TruSurround XT(R) premium surround sound technology in up to 20 LCD TV models destined for Asian markets SANTA ANA, Calif., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SRS Labs, Inc. ChiMei LCD TVs will utilize SRS TruSurround XT to process multichannel audio content found in television shows and movies. SRS TruSurround XT creates an immersive surround sound experience using only the TV's built-in stereo speakers. This patented, popular solution places all 5 surround sound channels around the viewer, allowing them to experience movies and other content as they were originally meant to be heard. No extra hardware is needed, thus eliminating the clutter, expense and complexity of a multi-speaker AV receiver setup. Additionally, when receiving a mono or stereo signal, TruSurround XT delivers an expansive three-dimensional sound field for a much improved surround sound effect. The agreement with Nexgen Mediatech is for the use of SRS TruSurround XT in up to 20 2009 ChiMei LCD TV models, ranging in sizes from 32" to 52". All models, including TVs from the E series, W series and S series are developed for the Taiwan, China and Asia Pacific regions.
