FORT WORTH, Texas, May 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Understanding
the need to strengthen the bond with our Special Operation Forces,
Elbit Systems of America, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Elbit
Systems Ltd., is presenting its innovative special operations
solutions in booth #1334 during the 2013 Special Operations Forces
Industry Conference at the Tampa
Convention Center in Tampa,
Florida, May 14-16, 2013.
Using demonstrations, video presentations, and product displays,
Elbit Systems of America will depict the successful integration of
systems available to empower Special Operations Forces. Dedicated
to those who contribute daily to the safety and security of our
nation, Elbit Systems of America's innovative and affordable
solutions offer SOF operators the winning edge they deserve.
Elbit Systems of America will present the Large Area Display
(LAD), Skylark® I-LE Block II, C-130 cockpit solutions
including the Digital Air Transport Head Up Display, and the
Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System IITM (JHMCS
II). SOFIC visitors to the booth may also examine Advanced
Communication Power Amplifiers, a JTAC LTD, and
Rattler-P. Supporting our forces, Elbit Systems of America
provides enhanced situational awareness with increased reliability
and maintainability.
Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System
IITM
The Joint
Helmet Mounted Cueing System II (JHMCS II) is the successor
Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) to the JHMCS program. A low cost, low
integration Intelligent Vision HMD solution, the JHMCS II is
available in two models: the JHMCS II-M and JHMCS II-H. The
JHMCS II-M offers magnetic tracking and works with existing
JHMCS subsystems. The JHMCS II-H offers the same HMD
performance with an opto-inertial tracker. The JHMCS II-H replaces
JHMCS subsystems with a lightweight Aircraft Interface Unit which
does not require cooling, a mounting tray, or cockpit mapping.
Large Area Display (LAD)
Revolutionizing the functionality of cockpits, the LAD is a
panoramic high-definition display measuring up to 22". The LAD
presents integrated high performance flight and mission graphics
onto a wider, slimmer, single screen.
Skylark® I-LE Block II
During
SOFIC, Elbit Systems of America will also feature the Skylark® I-LE
Block II Unmanned Aircraft System. The Skylark offers cutting edge
technology designed to assist warfighters in fulfilling close
range, tactical missions. Based on lessons learned and operational
experience accumulated with United States Forces in Afghanistan, the Block II has an operational
range up to 15 km, maintains approximately 3 hours of endurance and
is designed to perform in harsh environments such as high altitudes
and gusting winds. The hand-launched Skylark unmanned aircraft
system offers covert flexibility, sharp imagery and the ability to
operate at any time day or night. A hand-launched unit, the Skylark
combines the characteristics normally reserved for larger unmanned
aircraft system within the form-factor of a man-portable system
Digital Air Transport Head Up Display
(HUD)
In cooperation with its parent
company, Elbit Systems Ltd., Elbit Systems of America will present
the C-130 Digital Air Transport HUD. The digital air
transport model is a technologically advanced overhead-mounted
digital HUD, optimized for military and commercial aircraft. The
Digital Air Transport HUD displays a FLIR picture in XGA
resolution with overlaid symbology. This HUD can provide improved
situational awareness, increased safety, and enhanced operational
capabilities for the Special Operation Forces.
In addition to avionics and unmanned aircraft systems, Elbit
Systems of America will highlight high performance computing and
communications interoperability solutions and capabilities
including the Dual Power Amplifier, TC100L, TC-100D, and the
TC150M.
Dual Avionics Power Amplifier
The
Dual Aviation Power Amplifier provides two-way extended range
communications of both fielded and next-generation waveforms. The
power amplifier includes a 25W UHF/L-Band channel for
next-generation Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW) as well as a 50W
channel for legacy Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System
(SINCGARS). The compact design of the Dual Aviation Power Amplifier
reduces platform size and weight constraints.
TC Family of Power Amplifiers
The
TC-100L, TC-100D, and TC-150 power amplifiers are 100 and 150 watt
power amplifiers designed for the SATCOM uplink band with low noise
and high dynamic range. The TC-150 has additional multi-band
capability providing 50W Line-of-Sight (LOS) from 30 MHz to 512
MHz. Each power amplifier is designed for continuous operation in a
tactical environment. With a rugged, weatherproof chassis,
the amplifiers are capable of operation in vehicles, shelters,
aircraft, transit cases, and racks, or on the ground at the base of
the antenna mast.
The Sensor & Electro-Optics team will present the Joint
Terminal Attack Controller Laser Target Designator and
Rattler-P. Each light weight device is designed to enhance
the Special Operation Forces' ability to successfully accomplish
their missions.
Joint Terminal Attack Controller Laser Target Designator
(JTAC-LTD)
The JTAC-LTD, based on Rattler
Laser technology, is one of the lightest weight laser
targeting/hand-off solutions available for foot mobile warfighters.
With the Direct View Optic, warfighters never have to attach and
boresight an external optic for day missions. Additionally, the
1-watt NIR pointer boresighted to the 1064nm laser provides an
organic night capability. The JTAC-LTD also has a top rail and
bottom rail grabber giving warfighters options for stacking mission
specific equipment.
Rattler-P
At less than 3lbs, the
Rattler-P is one of the lightest laser marking devices in the
world. The Rattler-P provides an immediately available hand-off
capability to Laser Spot Trackers with an intuitive and simple
pistol design and man-machine interface.
