ROCKVILLE, Md., Oct. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- EDGAR® Online, Inc.
(NASDAQ: EDGR), a leading global provider of XBRL (eXtensible
Business Reporting Language) software, services and data, today
announced that Ed McDonnell,
executive vice president of worldwide sales and field delivery,
will present at the 23rd International XBRL Conference in
Montreal. In two panels, McDonnell
will educate the audience on how disclosure filings can be used to
enhance business performance and why XBRL data can be a key part of
the foundation of enterprise risk management, ensuring compliance
with regulatory standards and governance of firms.
In the "How is XBRL Being Used for Business Performance?" panel
on October 25, McDonnell will join
Panel Moderator Mike Willis, global
lead partner of PricewaterhouseCooper, along with Mike Starr of the U.S. Securities and Exchange
Commission and Emily Huang,
co-founder and vice president of business technology for Rivet
Software. The trio will discuss the value of XBRL data when
leveraged for not only disclosure filings but also for conducting
risk performance, management and analysis, and ultimately to
enhance a company's business outcomes.
Additionally, McDonnell will present during the "Who is Using
XBRL, Anyway?" panel on October 26,
also moderated by Willis. McDonnell and Susan Yount from the SEC's Office of Interactive
Disclosure will highlight where XBRL is available throughout the
world and how companies are using the standard for more than filing
purposes.
"Ed's contributions to the 23rd International XBRL Conference
underscore EDGAR Online's commitment to educating the international
market on the value of XBRL data," said EDGAR Online President and
CEO Robert J. Farrell. "Our
