--Apple will cut its planned production of AirPods wireless earphones by 25% to 30% this year, weighed by intensifying competition which hurt its sales, according to sources briefed on the matter, Nikkei Asia reports.

--It now expects to make between 75 million and 85 million units this year, from a previous production estimate of 110 million units, reports Nikkei Asia.

--The downward revision may be a sign of weakening demand for AirPods, it adds.
